The Party

We decided to give ourselves a break over the holidays and not plan Alex's birthday party (although always small) on January 1st, but wait till the following weekend.  Well yesterday was the day.  He was pretty excited--mostly for more presents, but also looking forward to a couple of friends and cousin Brody coming out to HIS house to play!  Grandma Lyn, Grandpa Ted, Uncle Brett, Aunt Lindsey, Brody, Jack, Susan, Russ, Carol and the Aberle clan came to celebrate with us!

There were no afternoon naps on this party day (not Mom's choice)...so I just held my breath and let the fun begin!

We had some food and let the kids play.  Following supper we lit the candles on his super cool John Deere combine cake, sang Happy Birthday, and with some help from cousin Brody (and just a little bit of spit), he blew all the candles out!

From there it was time for presents and more playing (and running and screaming and...)!  Let's just say he slept really really well!

Happy Birthday, buddy!  I sure hope this next year is a great one for you!
