I have to admit that I was super proud of Alex on Christmas morning! Amid all of the excitement of presents from Santa and full stockings just waiting to be opened, when I pulled out the video tape and asked him what today was, the first thing out of his mouth was "Baby Jesus' birthday!" It is important to me that the kids realize that Christmas is about a special birth and being with people you love--not just presents. We talk a lot about Jesus and his parents, Mary and Joseph. I can't imagine what Mary much have been thinking all of those years ago!
We spent Christmas at home--in our jammies for most of the day. I have to admit it was nice. Weird, but nice. I am almost ashamed to say we ate our nice Christmas dinner with our china, but in our jammies!
Alex was the first one up--surprise, surprise, but he did a good job waiting for Brecke. We knew it wouldn't be long before we heard "Mom, Mom!"

| Looking to see if he could see any reindeer tracks out by where he and Brecke spread the food. |
 |
Waiting patiently for Brecke to wake up and checking out the note from Santa!! He wrote it on the new art easel that he left for Brecke and Alex!! |
 |
| A note from the Big Man himself! |
 |
| MERRY CHRISTMAS! |
 |
| A little girl that was VERY excited about her fingernail polish!!!! Now is she will just stop biting her fingernails! |
 |
| They each got a harmonica and are pretty good with them! |
 |
| Very proud of his "Bullwinkle" and chisel! Now he can be just like Papa!!! |
 |
A tanker truck to fill up all his tractors!! Can you see his excitement!!!?? Love it!
After a Christmas lunch of ham, crispy potatoes, cranberries, salad and Christmas cookies, we enjoyed a quiet afternoon of naps and some serious play time with the new toys!!
Some memorable events/comments from the dinner table:
1. Brecke removing her socks and putting her foot up on the edge of the table and looking for "toe-cheese" (no we are not proud--but it was just one of those things that you wonder--why right now??)
2. Brecke looks at me and says "Mommy, you are the best Mommy --Ever!!!!" I'll take that!

| Brecke serenading Alex while they play with the new track and fast cars! |
 |
| In a sticky trans...sucking on a candy cane, blowing on her harmonica, watching brother play while her Christmas necklace lights up!! Her hair was stuck to everything!! |

| Our artists! |
Christmas night we loaded up in the truck and headed over to Paxton to see the lit up dancing house! It was pretty neat and we had a great spot to view it! Our Christmas 2012 theme song that was started because of the dancing house: Call Me Maybe!! I can't even tell you how many times we have listened to this song since December 25th! Brecke even knows the words to most of it now! Have to admit it is pretty cute to watch her sing and dance to it!
Another year of great memories with the kids! We look forward to this weekend and celebrating with the Hopkeys at Nana and Papa's!
